Purpose
ILEA™ brings together, in a cohesive way, Enterprise Architecture practices, standards, and knowledge that are currently scattered across many sources, so that they are useful to modern, agile enterprise architects. Its contribution is the structure that ties them together (principles, domains, and standards) and the author’s applied experience. ILEA does not seek to replace or appropriate the sources it builds on; it acknowledges them and points readers to them.
How third-party sources are used
- Every statement that comes from a third party cites its source.
- Verbatim quotations are brief and are used only to illustrate, discuss, or support an idea; they do not reproduce the substance of any work.
- Publicly available sources are preferred. When a paid or restricted-access source is cited, only the reference is given; its content is not reproduced.
- ILEA diagrams are original designs. When they are based on a third-party concept, they say so and cite the source; they do not copy its graphics.
